For the 2018 cross-country race of 1000 miles, we went from Fort Worth, TX to Palmdale, CA.
Despite our tough beginning, we managed to get back up on the second day of race and get 1st Place in Classic division, covering 544.4 miles.
Through the race the car ran the best it could've run, no issues were encountered. Our biggest struggle this year was Scrutineering but through hard work we made it through. This being our second year participating in the cross-country race we used our previous experiences to our benefit.
We couldn't have been able to have this great achievement if it wasn't for the help from our sponsors, mentors, teacher and all that supported this project and this team.
For the 2016 cross-country race of 1000 miles, we went from Dallas, Texas to Twin Cities, Minnesota.
This was the first race that we went with the Solar Cat V2, and even though we had not as much testing as we should've, we still managed to arrive at the end in 4th place, covering 472.9 miles.
A few obstacles came along the way leading to our final ranking of 4th place. As it is our first year doing a cross country race we were able to learn from this experience. Our biggest issue was that our solar panels didn't charge as well as we tested in Florida
For the 2015 circuit race, we raced at the Texas International Motor Speedway Fort Worth, TX.
10st Place in Classic division, covering 265.5 miles in the course of four days..
For this competition we had some setbacks with some mechanical side of the car and with the rollbar, but that didn't keep us from giving it our best.
We have learned tremendous amounts of knowledge from this experience. With the support, experience, and knowledge we have gained from competing in the challenge and other teams.
The first ever Formula E competition in the United States was held in Miami, Florida in the official course around the American Airlines Arena.
As a result, we placed first in the pole position. And after a thirty-minute race, with Justyn Byrne in the driver's seat, he was able to defy the odds and place first in the competition. We had a great experience.
In our endeavours to participate in this challenge, we went to FAU to build and finish the E-Car first. As the sun was directly above our heads, The Solar Cats and other high school teams raced for the best efficiency, which we obtained.
Thank you FPL for sponsoring this competition.
