We are a group of ambitious students from Western High School in Davie, FL. We use the principles of engineering to develop solar-electric race cars from the ground up. Aided by our mentors, parents, teachers, and sponsors, we are constantly pushing ourselves to innovate and promote the technology of the future.
Our team is determined to develop technical engineering skills and promote alternate forms of energy. We put these skills into action by developing solar-electric vehicles and participating in the Solar Car Challenge. We are currently developing a new car for the Electric-Solar Powered Division. Our new car will debut at the 2021 closed-track event.
Our team was founded by a small group of motivated students in 2013. We have built two solar cars and competed in the 2015, 2016, and 2018 Solar Car Challenge: Classic Division events. Since our first race, our team has performed stronger each time, going from 10th place in 2015 to 1st place in 2018. We have also competed in the FIA Formula E Schools Series in 2015, taking first place. Visit the Competitions tab to learn more about our past races.
